The SBU Doppler Lidar is a ground-based lidar system operated by Stony Brook University (SBU). It is a Doppler lidar manufactured by Halo Photonics that provides measurements of Doppler velocity, attenuated backscatter, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). It operates in the near-infrared (1.5 μm) and is sensitive to micron-sized aerosol backscatter. It can collect measurements up to 12 km and has a range gate of 18 to 60 m. The SBU Doppler Lidar has a temporal resolution ranging from 0.1 to 30 seconds.
